I decided to make Halloween costumes for my kids this year. I haven't made my kids Halloween costumes since Christopher was a baby and I made him a scarecrow costume for his 2nd Halloween. I ended up being sick for a whole week so the week before Halloween I ended up staying up late (very late) every night to work on Halloween costumes. My best friend, Stephanie, and I both had costumes to make and with both of us working hard every night we managed to get them done just in the nick of time.
Christopher is a superhero. I used Butterick pattern B3244 for the majority of this costume. It definitely has some modifications though!
Kaitlin is a mermaid. I used Simplicity pattern 4043. I actually bought this pattern a couple of years ago and it was fun to finally get to use it. I used a two tone taffeta for the costume using the lighter side and the darker side with a sparkly overlay to give the costume some contrast.
Isabella is a fairy. I used Simplicity pattern 2559. You can't really see it in the picture but I actually used 3 different fabrics in the same color. I loved all the layers in this dress!
I'm so happy with how all the costumes turned out! It was stressful but a lot of fun! Happy Halloween!
